| Locatie opmerkingen (dwc:locationRemarks) | Description: Atteint 4 m de hauteur, en touffes papyracées. Racines: rhizomes vigoureux. La tige est plus ou moins aoutée-fibreuse, à grandes cellules ereuses. Ovoïde. Les feuilles sont employées en guise de tuiles pour les toitures de huttes indigènes et divers (Kasaï notamment). Le pétiole forme le prolongement de la tige. Feuilles simples, entières, limbe de 43 cm de long et 31 cm de largeur. En creux à la face supérieure, dont relief. A la face inférieure, la nervure principale est proéminente et les nervures divergentes sont en creux et forment des ondulations du limbe. Feuilles glabres, mucronées. Vert brillant au dessus, glauque en dessous. Texture parcheminée. Fruits en grappes le long de la tige. Fruits rouges, brillants de 2 à 3 cm de diamètre, à 2/3 loges contenant 2/3 graines noires à albumen très dur. |
